The sweetness and the crunch are the enticing things about angel wings. Generally, these are seen as the twisted ribbons that are coated with sugar. Angel wings are regarded as traditional pastry. If not completely eliminated in a food, it must at least be lessened. Instead of using the ordinary table sugar or powdered sugar, there are alternative sweeteners that can be used. Sugar alcohols such as Xylitol has been proven to effectively cut down the sugar in a food but still provide the same sweetness.
