How do I know if I have oily/normal/dry skin?

I could normally tell but my skin is wierd. I’m sick right now and whenever I just lie down for a long time and basically eat and watch T.V for hours my skin reflects the light and is kind of shiny ONLY in very certain types of light. But when I wake up after sleep or am doing some activity like being at school or hanging out my skin is either normal or slightly dry, never oily. What gives?
